Finer Details Personal Concierge Services became the first Australian concierge business to travel around the world to attend an annual International Concierge and Errands Association (ICEA) conference.

The concierge business started around twenty years ago in the US and has since become one of the fastest growing industries in the world.

Conference applause ICEA holds an annual conference for members, offering informative industry seminars and the chance to network with other concierge businesses and vendors.

The ICEA association has chapters all over the world including a very successful Aus/NZ Chapter. “ICEA is the leading global professional association committed to supporting the owners and operators of concierge and errand service businesses.......” (quote from the ICEA website).

The owner of Finer Details Personal Concierge Services, Sara Hall, believes continuous learning is essential in order to persistently give the best service possible to Finer Details’ clientele. With this in mind Sara decided it would be beneficial to the business to attend the 2007 conference and learn from the pioneers of the concierge industry.

Sara attended the October conference in the United States of America because it not only provided the opportunity to attend the seminars and learn from the experts but also enabled her to meet many other concierge, errand service and lifestyle management businesses.

Since returning to Western Australia, Sara is now in the process of starting an ICEA networking group in Perth and continues to look at ways to improve the running of her business.
Other concierge business owners  Sara says “I learnt so much, not only from the seminars but from the other concierge business owners who attended the conference. Having time to spend chatting with other concierge businesses was invaluable; we were able to learn more from each other than would have been possible researching and talking over the internet. I met people who have been in the business for years and people who were just beginning; we talked about what had worked for some and not for others.
